I am happy to work anywhere in the world. Travel outside of Austin, TX will be billed at cost.
My name is Darcy Stumbaugh and I am a photographer located in Austin, Texas. I worked as a seasonal field technician all over the U.S., studying plants and wildlife for a variety of government and private organizations for about 10 years. My work introduced me to many amazing ecosystems and on the weekends I often returned to photograph wildlife. My specialty was bird photography. Now I'm bringing the equipment and skills used to capture a bird in flight to capture the emotions at your wedding.
In the spring of 2006 I participated in the Valley Land Fund South Texas Shootout, a high-stakes wildlife photography contest. Each photographer teams with a ranch and only submits photos taken on the ranch during the 3-month contest. My partner, La Brisa Ranch, and I were awarded first place in the grouped category of "Hummingbirds, Nightjars, Swallows, and Swifts", for a photo of a poorwill with newborn chick. Visit
The Valley Land Fund to see or purchase this photo and many others taken by several excellent photographers in beautiful South Texas.

For years I hosted an environmental job resources page on an old homepage and have resurrected it here. For my comrades in the ecological technician field, this page contains all of the job websites that have been useful to me for wildlife and botany work, and I hope they are also useful to you. Get to work!

Spring in the Atchafalaya Basin makes for damp working conditions.
